Company announces charitable contributions of more than $200 million over the past decade

The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today released its annual Community Report, which details the company’s 2017 charitable initiatives. Through corporate giving and the Travelers Foundation, the company invested more than $22 million in community support throughout the year, for a total of more than $200 million over the past decade. Funds were distributed to programs and organizations that focus on improving academic and career success for underrepresented students, creating and maintaining thriving neighborhoods and enriching lives through arts and culture.

Highlights from this year’s report include:

• Employees logged a record of more than 143,000 hours of volunteer time supporting important causes in their communities.
• The company celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its signature education program, Travelers EDGE® (Empowering Dreams for Graduation and Employment). Since its inception, the program has provided scholarships to more than 400 underrepresented students in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
• The Small Business Risk Education program, which helps women and minority small business owners learn about business continuity and safety risks and qualify for microloans, launched a new workshop geared toward veterans. Since the program began in 2012, more than 1,200 small business participants have attended safety risk management workshops.
