BARCELONA, Spain -- (Business Wire)
CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) this week demonstrates at Mobile World
Congress the innovative CSR Location Services Platform, featuring
cutting-edge advancements such as ‘context detection’ and
‘self-learning’ to deliver a seamless indoor and outdoor location
experience for consumers and enterprises alike. The platform delivers
unprecedented indoor accuracy of under 10 metres.
To be showcased at the CSR booth [Hall 6, Stand 6D35] and at the popular
Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Demo
Day, CSR’s Location Services Platform offers a customisable,
flexible infrastructure to enable a vast array of location-based
services. The offering is based on the SiRFstarV™
architecture, an approach to location and navigation relying not
only on GPS to determine position but also real-time information
gathered from Galileo, GLONASS and Compass (a.k.a. BeiDou-2) satellites;
multiple radio systems, such as Wi-Fi® and cellular; and multiple MEMS
sensors, like accelerometers, gyroscopes and compasses. It then combines
this data with ephemeris data, mapping, cellular basestation and Wi-Fi
access point location data and other cloud-based aiding information
using the accompanying SiRFusion™
platform.
“Since last year’s Mobile World Congress, the interest level and market
momentum for a seamless indoor and outdoor location has exploded,”
according to Anthony Murray, SVP Business Group of CSR. “Our hybrid
approach to indoor and outdoor location provides the location basis for
an increasingly wide array of use cases and deployments such as
automotive safety, geo-fencing, asset management, and countless others.”
Live demonstrations of the CSR Location Platform take place on the
show-floor at the CSR booth [Hall 6, Stand 6D35] and during the OMA Demo
Day on Wednesday 27 February, from 15:00 to 19:00 [Hall 8.0 Theatre
District, Theatre C]; in addition, Dave Huntingford, Director of Product
Line for Location at CSR, presents on ‘Indoor Location, Navigation and
Services’ at 16:50 in the same OMA Open Day venue.
