SAN JOSE, Calif. -- (Business Wire)
Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®)
(NASDAQ:IDTI) announced today that it has shipped over 1 million DDR4
registers, the result of growing demand for the next generation of DRAM
modules needed for the coming Intel® Xeon™ processor E5-2600 v3
platform. IDT’s
DDR4 register is part of a chipset that includes data buffers and
thermal sensors with serial presence detect (SPD). Together, they
collectively enable the complete range of unbuffered dual inline memory
modules (UDIMMs), registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) and load-reduced DIMMs
(LRDIMMs) needed to power the next generation of enterprise and data
center servers.
In addition to providing industry-leading performance, power efficiency
and reliability at the device level, the IDT solution includes a
software suite that enables server and storage manufacturers to uniquely
validate and optimize their platforms.
“The server and storage markets are gearing up for a memory technology
transition that occurs once every five to six years,” said Rami Sethi,
vice president and general manager of memory interface products at IDT.
“As the only memory interface supplier to offer a complete chipset for
DDR4, IDT is at the forefront of that transition. This milestone
underscores the confidence our customers have in this complete solution
of silicon and software to help differentiate their next-generation
modules and platforms.”
“DDR4 began ramping this year and is on course to supplanting DDR3 for
enterprise workhorse and mission-critical server systems,” said Mike
Howard, principal analyst at IHS. “Memory interface providers such as
IDT have played a critical role in realizing the significant performance
and power improvements of DDR4 technology to the ecosystem.”
IDT’s DDR4 chipset is fully compliant
to the published JEDEC 1.0 specifications and has completed rigorous
qualifications by customers and ecosystem partners. In addition to the 4RCD0124K registered
clock driver, IDT’s DDR4 solution includes the 4DB0124K data
buffer, and TSE2004GB2 thermal
sensor with SPD. All three devices are production-released and
shipping in volume today. For more information
