LITTLE ROCK, Ark. & PARAGOULD, Ark. -- (Business Wire)

Taxpayers in Greene County have a new option for beating the property tax deadline thanks to an online payment system offered by the county collector’s office. Residents can visit ar.gov/greeneproptax and enter a taxpayer number to begin. The system will prompt residents through secure payment screens and quickly provide both payment confirmation and a receipt for taxpayer records. The payment system will also work on a mobile phone.

“Adding this service gives our citizens a way to pay their property taxes securely online using a credit card, and avoid the hassle of mailing forms or standing in line at the courthouse,” said Greene County Tax Collector Cathy (CJ) Hays. “These days more people expect to be able to do business online, and now our taxpayers will have that option.” Hays noted that while she expects the online payment option to be popular, tax payments are still accepted by phone or by mail.

The Greene County Tax Collector partnered with the state’s eGovernment service provider, Information Network of Arkansas (INA), to develop the secure payment system to ensure privacy, security and data integrity.

Greene County personal property and real estate taxes are due March 1 and must be paid before October 15. Hays reminded citizens that tax bills would be mailed in the next couple of weeks. “Once you receive your tax bill, simply look for your taxpayer number, go online, and pay with a credit card or e-Check.”
