INDIANAPOLIS -- (Business Wire)
Sprint has finished in a tie for first place as the top ranked overall
wireless network in Indianapolis, according to independent mobile
analytics firm RootMetrics®. The new analysis shows Sprint in
a dead heat for #1 in overall wireless network performance.
This is the first time Sprint has had a shared win for overall network
performance in Indianapolis. This testing marks the eighth time
RootMetrics has tested Indianapolis, with the last test occurring in
November 2014.
“Indianapolis is a great city and it deserves a great network – we are
proud to deliver just that,” said Marcelo Claure, Sprint CEO. “Making
sure our customers have the best service is our #1 priority and there’s
never been a better time to join Sprint.”
Sprint Tied for #1 Network in Indianapolis
Sprint also tied for #1 in reliability, call and text performance, with
zero blocked calls during testing. RootMetrics drove a total of 1,247
miles and conducted more than 25,000 tests in Indianapolis.
Sprint has relentlessly focused on building and fine-tuning the network
in Indianapolis. The company added hundreds of new 2.5GHz cell sites,
and expanded its 1.9GHz and 800MHz 4G LTE coverage. Sprint’s network
teams systematically optimized each cell site to maximize overall
performance, coverage, capacity and speed.
In addition, Sprint improved service and upgraded the wireless systems
in high-traffic areas such as Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana
Convention Center. The company also supported the Indianapolis 500 and
will be supporting the upcoming Indiana State Fair by bringing in
additional capacity.
But what about Sprint’s network across the nation? That’s also getting
better every day. According to RootMetrics, in 113 markets measured in
the first half of 2015, Sprint has been awarded a total of 162 first
place (outright or shared) RootScore® Awards for overall,
reliability, speed, data, call, or text network performance.1 Those
numbers sound even more impressive when compared to last year’s results.
In these same 113 markets, Sprint achieved 25 first-place award wins in
the first half of 2014.
“Wireless connectivity is a key driver of economic and civic progress,”
said Dr. John Saw, Sprint’s Chief Network Officer. “We’re pleased to
give Indianapolis a great network, one that fully enables entertainment,
communication and collaboration across the city, our workplaces and our
homes.”
Indianapolis, Cut Your Bill in Half!
In addition to offering the area’s top-ranked overall wireless network
in a tie, Sprint offers the “Cut
Your Bill in Half Event.” When current Verizon and AT&T customers
bring their wireless bill and their old phones to Sprint, the company
will cut their monthly rate plan in half.2 Yes…in half. It’s
never been easier to switch to Sprint!
