In-club screenings available to public on Saturday, March 14 from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- (Business Wire)
As springtime approaches, there is no doubt that many Americans continue
to experience one of the more painfully cold winters this year, which
has affected the health of many. According to a study at Johns Hopkins
University1, cholesterol levels fluctuate seasonally, but are
at their worst during the cold winter months. To help people resume
their healthy habits with renewed vigor and excitement for warmer
weather ahead, Sam’s Club is offering free health screenings to both
members and the public.
These “Spring into Action” health screenings are free, confidential and
available at all Sam’s
Club locations with a pharmacy (604 locations) on Saturday, March 14
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The screenings are valued at $150² and include
tests for:
-
Blood pressure
-
Total cholesterol
-
HDL (good cholesterol)
-
Risk ratio
-
Glucose
-
Body mass index (BMI)
-
Vision (not available at all locations)
“Cold weather can make it a challenge for many people to stay on track
with their healthy habits, especially when it’s difficult to be active
outside,” said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president of Sam’s Club
Health and Wellness. “As we all hope for warmer weather since spring is
just around the corner, Sam’s Club encourages members and the general
public to take charge of their health by visiting their local club and
receiving a free health screening.”
In addition to monthly health screenings, Sam’s Club Pharmacies provide
savings and preventive care to each community they serve, such as
year-round immunizations for children and adults.* Licensed pharmacists
can administer walk-in flu shots and nine other important immunizations,
including the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine. Sam’s Club Plus
members and Sam’s Club Business members can also save even more on
prescriptions. To learn more about these savings and immunizations
offered, please visit SamsClub.com.
According to a J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Pharmacy Study,** Sam’s Club
