DES MOINES, Iowa -- (Business Wire)
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission launched a newly redesigned
website which will serve as a vehicle to ensure Iowa’s lawful gaming and
racing activities are conducted with the highest integrity, credibility
and quality. The website, which can be found at https://irgc.iowa.gov,
uses a responsive design enabling visitors to use their smartphones or
tablets with the same functionality as visitors using a desktop computer.
“We focus on remaining a technology-minded Agency, seeking to remain in
the forefront of providing the latest information and service to our
citizens on multiple levels,” said Brian Ohorilko, Iowa Racing and
Gaming Commission administrator. “Keeping our website
up-to-date with the latest technology while providing user-friendly
functionality is important to us, especially with the increasing
dependence on mobile devices in today’s culture.”
The website
provides visitors access to Iowa racing and gaming laws, licensed
facilities, studies and casino payback percentages. Visitors can also
easily find information about upcoming meetings, meeting minutes, press
releases, and commission contact information.
The website was redesigned in partnership with Iowa Interactive, LLC, of
Des Moines. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission and Iowa Interactive
operate under a self-funded model in which no additional tax dollars
were used to develop or maintain the website.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission website is the tenth state agency
to implement Iowa Interactive’s content
management system (CMS). In addition to the CMS product, Iowa
Interactive manages the state’s official Web portal, Iowa.gov,
and specializes in other online government applications.
