Health Net Health Plan of Oregon, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Net, Inc., now offers health insurance coverage for small businesses in Washington state.

Small Businesses Fueling Washington’s Economy

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration:

• Washington businesses with fewer than 100 workers employ 38 percent of the state’s workforce.
• 90 percent of Washington businesses that export goods are small firms, generating 24 percent of the state’s total known export value in 2012.
• 75 percent more businesses opened in Washington in 2013 compared to 2010, and 87 percent of them survived through 2014.
• Business bankruptcies declined from 2010 to 2014, signaling a stronger state economy.

Health Net Health Plan of Oregon’s new coverage is available statewide in Washington to businesses with one to 50 employees. Coverage consists of PPO policies, with a wide range of deductible levels. All policies include pediatric vision, pediatric dental and prescription drug coverage.

For Washington small business coverage, members and their covered dependents in most areas of the state have access to the First Choice Health PPO network, which provides access to doctors, hospitals and other health care providers. In five southern counties – Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Skamania and Wahkiakum – Health Net Health Plan of Oregon contracts directly with local hospitals, doctors and other health care providers.
