DOVER, Del. -- (Business Wire)
The
Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC) has selected Delaware’s
Hunter Trapper Registration Web application as the recipient of its
Outstanding Achievement Award. The IMC is a nonprofit organization
comprised of leading Web content professionals.
The
mobile-friendly Hunter Trapper Registration system (HTR) allows
hunters and trappers to obtain required Harvest Information Program
(HIP) numbers, License Exempt Numbers (LEN), manage deer registration
and snow goose permits, report snow goose harvests, and retrieve lost
registration and permit numbers.
“We’ve heard very positive feedback from our hunters about how easy and
convenient it is to use the HTR system. From an agency perspective,
we’ve definitely noticed fewer calls come in from individuals having
problems trying to register a deer harvest or obtain a permit since we
started using the new system. It’s a win-win for everyone,” said Matt
DiBona, wildlife biologist with the Delaware Division of Fish and
Wildlife.
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control
(DNREC) Division of Fish and Wildlife, the agency sponsor for this
online system, succeeded in their goals to improve the user experience
for hunters and trappers in the field, as well as to capture accurate
data in real-time for the agency. Users may access it by a mobile
device, computer, or by calling and speaking to a representative who
will log the information.
Last season, the HTR system processed thousands of registrations for
hunters and trappers, including nearly 15,000 deer registrations. HTR
was designed with a mobile-first approach, enabling its use on
smartphones and tablets, as well as laptops and desktop computers.
DNREC’s goal of offering services both online and on mobile devices
makes HTR relevant and convenient to those who love the outdoors and
need access in the field.
The Hunter Trapper Registration system is a collaborative effort between
the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control
Division of Fish and Wildlife, the Government Information Center, and
Delaware Interactive, LLC.
