DENVER -- (Business Wire)

The Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) has awarded more than $113,000 in micro-grant funding to 22 local governments across the state of Colorado. Each year, SIPA provides grant opportunities to help Colorado governments implement new technologies and digital government services. A large portion of the grant funding is made possible by SIPA’s self-funded contract with Colorado Interactive (CI). Governments across Colorado using SIPA/CI services save or avoid approximately $6 million in costs each year.

This year, SIPA received 58 applications from state agencies, counties, municipalities, institutions of higher education, and special districts. The micro-grant funds are intended for governments to make more citizen-facing information and services available online.

"SIPA is proud to give back to Colorado governments and communities. These grants represent SIPA's commitment to our partners, citizens, and the state of Colorado," said Jack Arrowsmith, SIPA’s Executive Director.

The grant award ceremony will be held at the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center in Denver following SIPA’s 7th Annual User Conference on April 18, 2017.

The 2016 SIPA micro-grant recipients include: 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, History Colorado, City of Arvada, City of Englewood, City of La Junta, City of Louisville, City of Montrose, Denver Public Library, Morgan County, Governor’s Office of Information Technology, Red Feather Lakes Library District, San Miguel Authority for Regional Transit, Sedgwick County Assessor’s Office, Timberline Fire Protection District, Town of Bennett, Town of De Beque, Town of Estes Park, Town of Moffat, Town of Silt, Town of Westcliffe, and the University of Colorado Boulder. Since the inception of the grant program in 2010, SIPA has awarded more than 145 grants totaling over $713,000.
