“We are making an aggressive push to expand on the local level, making it easier for wireless shoppers to save with Sprint’s industry-leading value for unlimited data, talk and text,” said Tim Donahue, Sprint Regional President for the Midwest. “With our continued network improvements and charitable efforts like the 1Million Project, Sprint continually seeks opportunities to give back locally by providing free devices and service to help high school students in the Midwest to complete their online assignments. The 1Million Project is a noteworthy avenue for our employees and customers to make a difference in our communities.”

Solid Network Performance

Sprint continues to improve its network coverage throughout the Midwest region. In the Twin Cities, Sprint has been added to the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at Xcel Energy Center, and is currently improving coverage at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and the Winter Park Practice Facility. In Kansas City, Sprint has made speed and capacity improvements at Arrowhead Stadium, Children’s Mercy Park, Kaufman Stadium, and the Sprint Center. Due to its vast spectrum holdings, Sprint is adding more network capacity in cities across the Midwest region, including rural locations. Creative new concepts such as the Sprint Magic Box also help provide a more customized solution for additional boosts in speed.

“Total wireless data usage has grown, on average, more than 1,000 percent over the last three years throughout the Midwest region,” said Scott Santi, regional vice president – Network at Sprint. “Over the last five years, Sprint has invested well over $1.2 billion in our Midwest network, taking advantage of our rich spectrum holdings to add speed and capacity, ensuring consumers are able to enjoy their experience now and in the future as the demand for data continues to grow.”

Active in the Local Community

Donahue, who was recently selected to lead Sprint’s newly created Midwest region, is actively engaged in the local community. In May, he was appointed as a sitting board member of KC Rising and the Downtown Council. Additionally, he serves as a board member on the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and participates with the Kansas City Area Development Council board. Donahue also volunteers his time with DeLaSalle Education Center in downtown Kansas City and PREP-KC, which are both focused on inner-city, under-privileged youth education.
