MADISON, Wis. -- (Business Wire)

Video, online learning and webcasting experts from around the world are gathering in Madison, Wis. and online this week for Unleash 2015, the Mediasite User Conference, hosted by Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ:SOFO), the trusted global leader for video creation and management solutions.

The ninth annual hybrid event is held at the landmark Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. It is the single best opportunity for Mediasite and video professionals – novice and expert alike – to collaborate, learn, inspire and push the boundaries of campus and enterprise video. Over three days, attendees will discover and share transformative ideas for their Mediasite implementations.

Leveraging the Mediasite webcasting platform, Unleash 2015 will be streamed live as a hybrid event to registered customers unable to attend in Madison. Online attendees can watch conference sessions streamed live to their Unleash Showcase, an interactive Mediasite-based online video portal. After the event, all attendees will have access to all recorded Unleash sessions. Mediasite Events, which provides streaming solutions and hybrid event capture for 700+ events coast-to-coast each year, will deliver the interactive Unleash Online experience.

Longtime Unleash attendee Dr. Steve Acquah, associate research professor in chemistry and director of GEOSET (Global Educational Outreach for Science, Engineering and Technology) at Florida State University, looks forward to Unleash every year to gain a deeper understanding of Mediasite and hear best practices from other users.

“Unleash sets the benchmark for how we should be recording, editing and publishing content that is dynamic and engaging,” Acquah said.

The conference applauds the explosion of video creation and consumption in the enterprise and on campus and features four concurrent tracks with more than 50 customer and company-led sessions from organizations including Dell, University of the Free State in South Africa, Northrop Grumman, Aerospace Systems, North Carolina State University, ABC for Health and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Plus, the public can stay in touch with what’s happening at Unleash via daily posts to Sonic Foundry’s blog, World of Webcast, and real time updates via Twitter using #mediasite.

“Unleash is a great time for both our customers and the Sonic Foundry team, because we get to spend a week learning from each other and hearing their visions for Mediasite in their organizations,” said Gary Weis, Sonic Foundry CEO. “Unleash gets bigger and better every year, and we look forward to collaborating with them on their video strategies and growing their Mediasite deployments.”
