CINCINNATI -- (Business Wire)
Thousands of online votes have been tallied, and arborist foreman James
Tatem from Hooksett, NH has been named the grand prize winner in the
second annual Cintas & Carhartt Cold Crew contest. He will be
sent on an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the CMA Music Festival June
6 – 9 in Nashville, TN.
Dave Bensette, a mail carrier from Tecumseh, Ontario, and Dawn Martin, a
cattle rancher from Beulah, ND were named second and third place winners
and will each receive $50 in Carhartt merchandise for their
participation.
Cintas Corporation and Carhartt launched the second annual Cintas &
Carhartt Cold Crew contest in September 2012 after the success of
the previous year’s competition. The contest targets workers in the U.S.
and Canada whose jobs require them to endure tough conditions in cold
temperatures. These individuals were encouraged to share their stories
and photos and explain why Carhartt workwear is essential to their jobs.
“The durability and excellent strength of Carhartt products keep me warm
through the New England winters,” says James. “Working outside in the
elements can be tough, but with Carhartt, winter is my favorite season.”
Congratulations to the other Cold Crew finalists who competed
this year:
-
Armand Cournoyer, an electrical inspector from Lorette, MB, Canada
-
Rebecca Barrett, a property management laborer from Negaunee, MI
-
Amanda Smith, a water and sewer superintendent from Winterport, ME
-
Paul Wright, a certified pump operator from Pineville, NC
-
Cynthia Gottwald, a mail carrier from Toronto, ON Canada
-
Tim Ahlstrom, a framing contractor from Arvada, CO
“This contest is a great reflection of the character of our companies,”
says Brad Heizman, Director of Garment Strategy at Cintas Corporation.
“Both Carhartt and Cintas are known for providing tough, durable
products and quality, dependable service, and we want to recognize the
workers who reflect those same characteristics.”
“On behalf of Carhartt, we’d like to congratulate James Tatem for his
well-deserved win in addition to all of the other finalists of the 2013
Cold Crew contest,” said Rick Fecowicz, Director of Licensing at
Carhartt. “This competition celebrates the values of hard-work and
commitment. We at Carhartt hold these values and our consumers who wear
our products in the highest regard – congratulations to all of our Cold
