Citizen feedback drives new design features for Alabama.gov

The state of Alabama is proud to unveil the new look for its official website, Alabama.gov, and introduce its most user-friendly design yet. With the award-winning website’s easy to use format, visitors can quickly discover useful local, state and federal government information, and access convenient online services.

Utilizing visitor feedback and analytical data, the Alabama.gov homepage now provides more information on popular topics users want most. Visitors can also navigate through the site more efficiently than ever before with enhanced menu options. In addition, the mobile-friendly Alabama.gov site continues to conform to the size of the user’s screen, creating the best user experience possible on any device.

Another new enhancement to the Alabama.gov site is the social wall, “Connect with Alabama,” located on the homepage. Social media is the fastest form of communication to reach the general public and is harnessed by a multitude of agencies, departments and state officials. With this in mind, visitors can check out the latest posts from government-affiliated social media accounts across the state in a single view.

The Alabama.gov website was redesigned at no cost to taxpayers through Alabama Interactive’s partnership with the state via a competitively bid contract. The contract allows the company to provide eGovernment applications and services to state agencies, boards, commissions, political subdivisions, local government agencies and quasi-government agencies within the state of Alabama. Alabama Interactive works with more than 60 state agencies, managing over 225 online applications through a self-funded model.
