HARTFORD, Conn. -- (Business Wire)
Connecticut recently launched a redesigned CT.gov,
the state’s official website. The redesigned CT.gov features a new
design along with user-friendly navigation, better search functionality,
and easy access to the state’s most popular services.
“We want to ensure that residents, businesses, and visitors have the
tools they need to access and engage their state government, and one of
the best and most efficient ways of accomplishing this is through a
modernized online presence that makes their interactions with government
services as simple and easily accessible as possible,” Governor Dannel
P. Malloy said. “As the development of our state’s online presence
continues, we are keeping an eye toward ensuring that new features
continue to be added that improve the experience for our constituents,
especially for our most novice users.”
On the homepage, users will find several of the most commonly accessed
state services organized by topic, such as “Business,” “Driving and
Transportation,” “Education,” and “Health and Human Services,” among
others. These sections contain some of the most frequently accessed
state services citizens are looking for. The new navigation allows
visitors to refine their search for specific Connecticut State
Government information. Paired with the new navigation is a new topic
search feature that gives site visitors a more refined topic-based
search within each section. Users are also able to select their
personalized preference for viewing site information, through List or
Simple View options.
Interactive online feedback polls have also been added to specific pages
throughout CT.gov, which allows visitors to quickly provide feedback on
the helpfulness of pages. Users can also take a survey and provide
feedback, which will be used to determine future site improvements and
enhancements.
Along with the new layout and features, CT.gov continues to utilize a
mobile-first, responsive design, which provides a user-friendly
experience across phone, tablet, and desktop devices. CT.gov also
continues to make government services more accessible for online
visitors to conduct business with the state through increased usability,
customer service, transparency, and accessibility.
"Citizens and businesses want more from their state governments. For
this upgrade, we analyzed user traffic and discussed our observations
with users to inform our process. It is through digital government
activities like these that we make our government more available and
responsive,” Connecticut Chief Information Officer Mark Raymond said.
Connecticut has also launched redesigned websites for Governor
Malloy and Lieutenant
Governor Wyman, providing visitors with the latest news and
information from both offices.
