STOCKTON, Calif. -- (Business Wire)

Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced that its all-new network in Stockton, California, shares a first-place ranking for overall network performance, as well as reliability, call and text performance according to a recent report by independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics®.

Sprint has been building an all-new network in Stockton and the surrounding areas. As part of the overhaul, the company has transformed its network to deliver a more consistent experience, with better call quality and faster data speeds than before. Since RootMetrics’ previous test in June, Sprint officially launched 4G LTE service in the area. Subsequently, Sprint’s median download speed increased from 0.3 Mbps to 12.6 Mbps, and Sprint’s median upload speed increased from 0.8 Mbps to 5.3 Mbps. Sprint’s rate of blocked calls improved from 4.2 percent in June to 0.0 percent in this latest round of testing.

“We’ve been working hard on our network in Stockton and we’re pleased to provide our customers with a great experience,” said Joe Meyer, vice president of Sprint Network Performance. “Coupled with our new pricing plans offering the best value in wireless, this is a great time to give Sprint a try.”

Best Value in Wireless

In addition to offering an all-new network, Sprint is also committed to providing U.S. consumers and businesses the best value in wireless. With the Cut Your Bill in Half Event, Sprint will cut in half the monthly rate plan for Verizon and AT&T customers who switch to Sprint. The new offer provides unlimited talk and text to anywhere in the U.S. while on the Sprint network – regardless of a customer’s current plan – and matches the customer’s data allowance for half the cost they are currently paying for their monthly rate plan.1 Sprint will pay up to $350 per line via a Visa® Prepaid Card for a customer’s early termination fee or installment bill balance when they switch. Once a customer has received the final bill from the other carrier, he or she may simply register for the Visa Prepaid Card at sprint.com/jointoday.2

Sprint Business Share plans are also available for virtually any mobile device and offer the flexibility for businesses to select data plans at competitive prices for almost any data need, up to 800GB for up to 100 lines.
