AUGUSTA, Maine -- (Business Wire)
FirstNetME, a statewide program focused on preparing Maine for the
design, deployment and operation of the nation’s first dedicated
high-speed wireless broadband network for public safety, is pleased to
announce the launch of their new website www.FirstNetME.gov.
The website was designed and developed by FirstNetME in partnership with
InforME, the state’s e-government portal provider, and serves as an
interactive educational tool that will inform both public and private
entities about the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN)
and the FirstNet program.
“This website will be the single most important tool we use to inform
and connect with the public safety community during the life of the
project,” commented Lisa Leahy, ConnectME Authority Associate Executive
Director and Maine’s FirstNet point of contact. “InforME has produced an
intuitive, interactive and easy-to-use website, and we have appreciated
their expertise throughout this partnership.”
Visitors to the site can access information on the Federal FirstNet
initiative, the network development process and timeline, current news
and events, and various resources for further study. In the future,
FirstNetME will provide online tutorials that will qualify as
educational credits for members of the public safety community. The
program will also release an online survey in order to collect
information from public safety entities on the communication
technologies they use and the diverse challenges they face. The results
of this survey will be critical in the planning and design of Maine’s
network.
FirstNetME encourages questions and feedback through an interactive
information form located on its website or by contacting project team
members directly. For more information about the program visit the
FirstNet Twitter
and Facebook
accounts or contact Lisa Leahy at 207-592-0668 or by email at lisa.leahy@maine.gov
